If You Work for a
Employer with > 50 Employees
Rebecca Jami is a Production Manager for a graphics and printing firm.
Her employer is large enough to have to comply
with the (USA) Family and Medical Leave Act which
offers unpaid job-protected leave. Her employer also
offers some paid leave through a disability policy. But Rebecca
wanted something more. And she got it.
“Using the strategies in
your [Max Maternity
Leave] planner, I asked for and got approval for 12
weeks of full pay while on leave. The company standard is 6
weeks' pay under their short-term disability policy. Thank you.
Rebecca Jami,
Alexandria, Virginia
If You Work for a Small
Employer (< 50 Employees)
Working for a small employer can present different
challenges. Melissa is a Policy Manager for a non-profit
association outside of Washington, DC. It's so small,
there's no leave policy nor is one required by law. Yet
the professionally-crafted plan found in Max Maternity
Leave delivered what she wanted.
“My Executive
Director and the Executive Committee thought
the written request was great. They
approved my request for 12 weeks leave with
4 paid! An excellent outcome.”
Melissa H., Arlington, Virginia
Rebecca and Melissa had their stories featured
in Working Mother magazine (April 2005) after
they used Max Maternity Leave.
