Do you want a flexible work arrangement upon returning to work? Here
is suggested language to use in the section labeled
Return to Work: long-term plan of your maternity leave proposal.
If you want to return to work in a
telecommuting arrangement:
“I plan to resume my full-time schedule on [date]. However, I propose a
mutually-beneficial [and cost-saving] approach to retaining my training and
experience that will also lead to an increase in on-the-job [select:
productivity; concentration; energy; loyalty; efficiency; creativity]. Attached
is a separate document outlining a
plan for restructuring my current full-time position as [job title] into an
equally [more] productive telecommuting arrangement on [#] days each workweek.”
If you want to return to work in a
compressed workweek arrangement:
“I plan to resume my full-time schedule on [date]. However, I propose a
progressive approach to retaining my training and experience that can also lead
to an increase in on-the-job [select: concentration; energy; loyalty;
efficiency; creativity]. Attached is
a separate document
outlining a plan for restructuring my current full-time position as [job title]
into a full-time and equally productive compressed workweek arrangement.”
If you want to return to work on a
part-time schedule:
“I propose a cost-saving approach to retaining my training and experience
that will also lead to an increase in on-the-job [select: productivity;
concentration; energy; loyalty; efficiency; creativity]. Attached is
a separate document outlining a plan
for restructuring my current full-time position as [job title] into an equally
productive reduced workweek arrangement.”
If you want to return to work in a
job sharing arrangement:
“I propose a progressive approach to retaining my training and experience
that can also lead to an increase in on-the-job [select: productivity;
concentration; energy; loyalty; efficiency; creativity]. Attached is
a separate document outlining a plan
for restructuring my current full-time position as [job title] into an equally
[more] productive job sharing arrangement.”
